“Normally they don’t run away, though…” Luke also watched the bunny, as he pet it a bit, then brought his hand back. The bunny stayed put. “See?”
Cheria still was nervous, but she held out her hand anyway. The rabbit’s soft fur tickled her fingers. Cheria couldn’t help but grin. She leaned in a bit, but the shuffling grass under her knees made the bunny hop away!
“Ah!” Cheria’s hand was still outstretched and shaking. “Oh no…”

“If you say so. By the way, is there an older you or younger me here at all?”
“Yes, I think so?” Of course she knew so. Young Asbel was the first person she met here, and so many people had known her name from somewhere before. “I’ve never met the older me, though”

“Yeah!” Luke smiled again. The second one came to Luke’s and began nibbling on the carrot. Luke calmly pet the bunny. “They are! You can pet them, they don’t bite. After he stopped, the rabbit finished eating his and ran off, but Cheria’s kept eating.
“If you pet them, they’ll run away though.” Cheria watched the bunny eat more, still wanting to pet it, but not wanting it to leave. “What do I do…?”

“If you want to!” Luke smiled at her again, waiting for the rabits to come out. Two slowly crept over to the carrots. “You’re doing fine, just don’t be too loud when the bunnies come over.” Luke nodded, waiting for the bunnies. One came to Cheria’s carrot first, and started nibbling it.
“It came to mine!” Cheria quickly quieted down, remembering what Luke had just said. She wanted to pet it, but that would scare it away, right? She was just excited one came at all. “It’s so cute.”

“H-How did you get here, anyway? Shouldn’t you be in Lhant? If you don’t want to leave…then…I’ll just have to look after you!”
“But!” She felt a cough fit come over her, but she managed to bite it back. “I don’t need that! I’ve been fine here by myself, see?”

Luke pulls a few carrots out of his pocket and walks over to Cheria, handing her a few. “Here, we can feed them together.” Luke smiled as he put a carrot down, waiting for the bunny to run over to it.
“You want me to help?” Cheria took the carrots and watched Luke bait the rabbit. She bent down and mimicked what he did, secretly biting the inside of her lip. She didn’t want to let him down. “Am I doing this right?”

“I’m Asbel.”
“I… I thought it was you…” Which was why she reacted in that way, after hearing about a grown up Asbel from the one her own age and then to have the first thing he say to her that she was small… It wasn’t as she expected this at all.
But now that he was here, Cheria didn’t know what to say. She didn’t want to mess this up, which she knew she would.

“I do…Well, I was following bunnies here, I wanted to feed them, but they all ran away…” Luke said sadly as a bunny ran by in the bushes nearby.
“Bunnies? Oh!” Cheria’s attention snapped to the rabbit. “There’s one now!” She tiptoed over to the bushes and tried to peek past them. “I thought I saw one…”

“Well, it’s alright then…” Luke started to get over it now, it wasn’t a huge deal. “Um…You too.” Luke showed a bright smile to the girl, finally happy to see someone else his age.
“So what are you doing here? Are you lost or something?”

“…I’m Luke. L-U-C-E. Don’t you remember me?” Luke was sure he knew the girl, how else would he know her name?
“I-I don’t… I’m sorry!” The boy seemed trustworthy though, and she hated to let him down. “But it’s nice to meet you, Luke!”

“Ah!” Cheria was surprised, but this was the billionth time someone came by and knew her name. “Who are you?”
